Sometimes we make up questions for each other to answer. It's part of the office culture here at gogoyoko. That, foosball, and nerdy discussions about whether the correct phrase is "Jungle Is Massive!" or "Junglist Massive!".

The Charity Icon (white dove) indicates when the album or tracks you are buying contribute to the gogoyoko charity partners. If the charity icon is shown on an album (or individual tracks), a portion of the revenue from every sale of that item goes to our charity partners.
When you purchase music on gogoyoko that donates to charity you are provided with a receipt where the donations through your purchase are stated. -

-
How does an artist donate to charity?
An artist donates to charity through his music sales. When you upload an album you can choose to donate 10% or more of the sales from that particular album to one or more of our charity partners. You can also choose to donate to charity from the sales of individual songs but then the donation splits equally between our 5 partners. This is all clear in the uploading process and you’ll be led through the steps one by one. Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you need help.
-
How much has gogoyoko donated to charity so far?
It’s still early days for our charity program so it’s really not timely to discuss amounts. However, with every new user and more and more artists donating to charity everyday we’ll see the numbers growing faster for our charity partners. We are also in the process of kick-starting our advertisement system and once we get some advertisers on board we can start to donate 10% of our ad income as well.
So, be patient. All good things take time. But be sure to hit the store and be supportive of artists that so generously give a portion of their sales to our charity partners. The Charity Icon (white dove) indicates when the album or tracks you are buying contribute to the gogoyoko charity partners.
Once we start seeing some significant numbers we’ll launch the charity ticker on the site so that all users can follow the growth in total charity donations in real time.
And to all of you who have or are using gogoyoko to donate to our charity partners we’d like to say THANK YOU. You are very generous and you are making a difference! -
