The Internet has revolutionized the way people buy and listen to music online. gogoyoko is a social music marketplace where music fans can buy directly from the artists. Artists can now have total control over the way their music is sold.

Everyone can share and stream their favorite music, using their own customizable player. You can store your music-collection online or download it to any portable device.

Artist not only set the price of the music, but they get 100% of the profit as well as extra revenue from streaming.

Background

After years of experience from selling their music in the US, UK and mainland Europe - often seeing most of the money of the transaction being swallowed by middlemen - a group of artists and an owner of a small label were led to create what they saw as a dream platform to enter the global market. They wanted a platform where they would not only get exposure and be in contact with their fans, but also receive a fair share of the music sales and royalties for streaming of their music.

As such, gogoyoko is made by artists for artists and is all about fair play. That's why we strive to keep the best deal out there for the artists and right holders of music. Apart from legal obligations regarding royalty sales to publishers and transfer fees, the money from music sales goes directly to the artists.

Features

Additionally, we provide music right holders with a good share of our advertisement revenues based on the streaming of their music. gogoyoko consists of two main sections, a social network where artists, record labels, music professionals and music fans create profiles, interact and contribute to the ever evolving music scene and a music store, which can be customized by artist and record labels. Our music player, which is used by people on the site by everyone to share their favourite music with other people, can be used on other sites on the Internet.

Next year, we will be introducing more features on the site, such as our interactive music magazine, where music fans can impart and keep up to date with new releases, exclusive interviews, reviews, special offers etc. and the worldwide music map, a groundbreaking tool giving our users access to concert listings worldwide - serving as guide way to the music store and easy access to artist, venue and festival profiles.

Charity

Last but not least we should mention that charity plays a big role in our concept, with 10% of all advertisement revenues going to partnering international charity & environmental organizations. gogoyoko also provides artists with the opportunity to donate 10% of their music sales - and music fans to contribute directly. gogoyoko was born in Reykjavik, Iceland, in November 2007. Today the team is based in Iceland, Norway and Germany.
