Múm adds another hit to their impressive catalogue with 2009's 'Sing along to songs you don't know'. The band's hallmark presence is definitely felt here, from the haunting refrains of the track titles ("Sing along" comes particularly to mind) to the welcome, if unexpected arrival of drum-synthesisers to produce a sound only the Icelandic wizards are capable of producing. Decidedly different from their earlier work, the departure of Múm's Gyða and Kristín Anna Valtýsdóttir has resulted in less tracks like 'There's that fear again', with an emphasis centring more on sounds from youth, with songs such as 'Blow your Nose' starting with the winding of an ethereal jack-in-the-box. A whimsical listen, and entirely up to par with the brilliance previously demonstrated by Múm. Seagull recommends this.
