Write a review for Árstíðir
Maximum 3000 characters-
A bit of Simon and Garfunkel, a dash of northern darkness and melancholy, and you have Árstíðir. Well done.

When foreign critics reviewed Ágætis Byrjun by SigurRós, one said "This is the stuff that dreams are made of". The same goes for this album by Árstíðir, it's just that good. The music is beautiful and the bands use- and choice of instruments is very good. The strong point, though, is the use of harmonies; this is what makes the music of Árstíðir so wonderful and so enjoyable. Also I must mention the rythm; when listening to the songs one notices this celtic rythm applied to the harmonies and melodies. This adds an element of mistique to the music, making it almost farytale-ish.
If I were to point out songs on the album as perticularly good I would have to mention nr. 2 (Heiðin): For any listener, this is a beautiful song but if you understand Icelandic than the lyrics add a powerful undertone. Also I must mention nr. 6(Kill Us): This one shows of the bands mastery of melody and harmony to the non-Icelandic speaking listener.
