Album Info

After many sleepless nights, live shows and 3 albums under their belt, Bologna's (Italy) prodigal sons, Forty Winks, return with "Bow Wow" a full length on Unhip Records that will make you lose your breath.
Born from the loins of Punk Rock, the band quickly grows up in the Italian Rock scene and establishes their mature yet playful sound that will resonate through the streets of the entire continent.
In 2001 End Records would repress their debut album "To The Lonely hearts" (End Records) for the United States gaining the attention of iconic rock magazine Alternative Press which would feature them that same year amongst the best European bands with the likes of the Hives and the Hellacopters.
The following two year are spent on the road, playing throughout Europe and embarking on a month long American tour which would then lead them to Tokyo, Japan for the festival season. As they return home, Wynona Records will be releasing their Ep "Sweet Sweet Frenzy" which would force them to quickly pack their bags and get on the road again. March 2004, the band would open for Blink 182 on their only Italian date and the following September shared the main stage of the Independent Days Festival (Italy) with Sonic Youth, Franz Ferdinand and Velvet Revolver. The band's hard work would be then celebrated by the M.E.I. which would give them the accolade of Best Italian (Punk) Band Overseas. The band is now ready for its second and self- titled album "Forty Winks" on which rich guitar melodies are partnered with a synthesizer and more introspective vocals. Their 2005 album, out on Wynona Records, would earn them a Japanese repress on Angelina Records entitled "Highlights" which would be comprised of their album and a "Best Of" their previous works. Once again the guys would embark to the far East for a sold out tour along side Japanese sensations, Brahman. No rest for the weary as the band would keep rolling the months to come playing along side Queens of the Stone Age, Presidents of the USA and Juliette & The Licks. Jump ahead 5 years of tours, internal reflections and many secluded sessions for their upcoming album which would culminate in the addition of a fifth member, Riccardo Orlandi, known for his contributions in the bands The Rituals, Hell Demonio and is also head of Tannen Records.
July 2010 the band starts recording their newest endeavor on which the guitars take a half step back in order to add an organ and an electric piano. The end result is a record that fuses together Elvis Costello like rock, Helmet's heavier edge, Bowie's primordial irony and a variety of influences from Noise and Hip Hop to electronic music.
"Bow Wow" is without a doubt an eclectic record, that contains a decade of musical experience of a band that has made it their creed not to follow genres and trends and thus set them apart from the rest.
