Album Info
This is the sound of a band that is relentless in their mission to bring back the spirit of multiple generations of punk rock and garage. The DIY spirit that has been carried on by singer songwriter Paul Grace Smith in his 15 years of leading this ever changing band of miscreants has come to fruition, as he collected the creme de la creme of French and American musicians for this ruthless display of anger and passion that is ELECTRIFYING TALES. Flinging all caution to the wind, Dumbell embraces Power pop sensibilities (Big Star, The Nerves), tackles Detroit mayhem (MC5, Stooges) and by way of the beginnings of the US hardcore scene (ala the Wipers, Husker Du and Black Flag) they thumb their noses at the guitar pyrotechnics that are expected from their contemporaries. At the same time they combine elements of goth and garage mixing it together for a sound that is all their own. Electrifying Tales was recorded between Dumbell's 2011 USA and European tours. Belted out in a ware house in Dresden, Germany, mixed in the French countryside at Indie Ear Studios by Mathieu Kabi, and finally mastered by Justin Perkins in Milwaukee in the US, Dumbell holds true to their well earned title of international doomsday punk rock.More From This Artist (3)
