Album Info

The Surf-Rock SensationAfter 5 years of waiting the new album "Go West" by the Leipzig Surfband "die Kosmonauten" is out. The boys have remained faithful to offer the finest instrumental music in the style of the 60s. Of course that's not all! Allusions to Don Cossack Choirs, psychedelic hippie music, funk, sci-fi sounds, car driving music, Eastern German rock, gypsy swing, exotica sounds and Christmas bells make the album a listening experience that beats with its loving treatment every major production by far. As its title suggests, the core of the LP is on spaghetti western music - acoustic paintings to which Pierre Brice, Lex Barker, Gojko Mitic and Terence Hill acted as models. With the song "Zigeunerschnitzel" (meaning "Gypsy steak") they memorialize themselves and probably secure the inclusion in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio - then it's definitely: "die Kosmonauten - Go West!"
