Album Info

Three-part harmonies, vintage synthesizer explorations and folk-rock sentiment characterize the debut release from Wildeflower, a six piece from Englefield Green.  Led by the hirsute Max Kinghorn-Mills, the psychedelic-folk group marry influences from revival/progressive Nick Drake, Bert Jansch and Fairport Convention with the modern, swirling patterns of Caribou and Four Tet. 

Recording took place last summer in bedrooms and the Beaconsfield countryside with Chris Smith (Fractal Skulls). Max explains further,  "I wanted to keep these recordings organic, avoid cold production; so we recorded some parts outside in the fields."

Wildeflower is the third artist to sign to Stella Mortos, after acclaimed debut releases by Entrepreneurs and FOE. What began as a bedroom label by founder Jehan Harding is starting to acquire momentum, with a summer compilation planned as well as further singles and EPs.
