Album Info

Cynic Guru is an American/Icelandic Alt/Pop/Rock band fronted by Iceland Symphony violinist Roland Hartwell. Ricky Korn on bass, Oli Holm on drums, and Einar Johannsson on guitars.

"Iceland" was the first cd released by Cynic Guru, spawning two top ten hits with "DRUGS" and "CATASTROPHE". Simply delicious to taste.

    Good, strong vocals with ample power and prowess plus enough dexterity to make those very interesting chord progressions sound almost effortless.

    The sound has a Beatle-esque core but with a feel that is a lot more comfortable in this decade than McCartney himself is! It all sounds very professional and the songs themselves are catchy enough to grab the attention, but not so catchy that they get stuck in a mainstream rut.

    I'm surprised a label hasn't snapped this album up. Their loss!
