Naked Poets stage their acoustic alternative rhythm & blues with multifaceted format. Tempi, tunes and tonality are varied with alluring charme and nonchalant naturalness. Earthy, grungy and electrifying escapades hold a dastardly dialogue with smooth and intimate songs. Clean acoustic guitars meet ethno percussions and dirty blues harps. Catchy hooklines and strong-vocalized choruses of two solid voices ensnare their lyrics’ profoundness and fervour. Naked Poets surely stir up emotions with their lines, are far away from abandon theirselves in social lethargy (“Solid Voice”, “The Mirror Within”, “Delayed”) and clearly declare their passion for life, love and vice without appearing too obviously intentional (“Once”, “Give It Up And Go”, “No Woman”). “Is Love That Cruel” is the first longplayer of two musicians based in South Germany. Deliberately produced in an archaic way, the purity of the music falls into oblivion in the face of a perfect symbiosis of clarity and message. Freedom and frustration. The road and its dust.
