Album Info

Prinspóló will release Jukk, his debut LP, on June 10th 2011, with his friends at Kimi Records. Knowing that fans can't wait so long for the album he has decided to stream Jukk on the brand new www.prinspolo.com as of now. Prinspóló is the brainchild and former alter ego of Svavar Pétur Eysteinsson (of Skakkamanage and Rúnk fame). Prinspóló started as a one man band but soon developed into a full band. Svavar Pétur is a graphic designer from Breiðholt (Reykjavík suburb). He worked on a farm as a child where he studied singing with a walkman and a shovel. He now designs stuff for Kimi Records and runs HAVARÍ with his lovers. The few moments he has to himself he changes his bottled up feelings into songs and puts them on tape.

You might wonder what Jukk means. Jukk is everything that does not have a logical origin. Jukk is a happening, state and/or entity that everybody knows and has perceived but can't explain. At some moment everything is Jukk.

I love Svavar's guitar playing, the sound of his voice and the sound of this record. Hooray for the Prins. One of the best records I've heard this year.

Absolutely gorgeous chord progressions coupled with riffs to die for. The nonsensical lyrics kill it for me though.

Excellent album if you downplay the whole "being weird for weirdness sake" element you find in the lyrics.
