After years of waiting for a fresh sound in the rock genre, seeing tons of metal, hardcore and even grunge bands come and go and leave you with nothing, you start to lose hope that this branch will expand at all. Then finally comes a band that outnumbers them all. They not only have the freshest sound in a long time, they are also incredibly technically good musicians, each on his instrument, and insane live performers. I've seen them play a show at 9 o'clock in the morning at Prikid in Reykjavik and they were like never before. These guys also have this drive that we all love so much, the urge to deliver to you what they love to play and do it with heart and soul.

I dont see a reason to give this record a lower rate for it's well polished audio editing, the songs are just too well written, but still I fully agree with mr. MacNeil. For their next album they should try harder in catching this live-atmo that they can so well deliver, perhaps leave the auto-tune at home and spare the plug-ins for the soulless indie bands that really need it. ;)

The only reason I can't go higher with this record is that I subsequently saw them live and lost my mind at how incredible they are. If they were only impressive musicians, it would be enough for people to take notice, but what makes this band so absolutely on a path to greatness is how they gel together as a group and deliver a ferocious sound that brings At The Drive In to mind, but never steps away from its own voice. Unfortunately, the sound of this album is just a bit too polished for my liking... when they record next they have to find someone to capture what I've seen them do in the flesh.
