From the forest-clad Spanish hills, rising behind the bright lights of the coast, comes the lament of Luna Gitana, the ‘Gipsy Moon.’ Charles Magnante’s brilliant and impassioned accordion cadenzas, vibes and sensuous piano ripples add a moody flicker of lantern light to the heady Mediterranean night. Quickly now, you glide over the smooth waters and anchor in beautiful Capri for some lively enjoyment amid the ruins of once sumptuous Roman villas. The carefree mandolin gambols through Capri Capers and this tripping tarantella reaches new heights, full of humor and orchestral abandon. In Lover’s Stroll the Riviera of another era glows dimly under gas lights and fireflies circle around the silhouetted couples... far away from the hubbub of plush casinos. Then, framed within the ornate grillwork of a balcony in Barcelona, you’ll meet Gina, the raven-haired enchantress, caught in the throbbing beat of a tango as pulsating strings sweep the melody along in a flaming serenade.
