Album Info

The zombie strikes back with a new EP. After months of studio work on his forthcoming album, he & Record Makers have decided to release 'Nightcall' as an apéritif. 'Nightcall' is the first song Kavinsky provides vocals for, a duet you might say, featuring the zombie and his girlfriend, a.k.a. Lovefoxxx from CSS! The song was produced by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and mixed by SebastiAN. The remix of this song, by a mysterious Dustin Nguyen, is an outstanding pop song that everyone can enjoy. On the other side, Kavinsky has produced the fantastic 'Pacific Coast Highway', in which we follow a ghostcar on the highway. The remix job is by French avant-garde producer Jackson. His epic 9 minute long version is unmissable. 'Nightcall' is composed of 4 tracks, representing the sensual, epic and romantic French sound like never before.

    The French zombie Kavinsky has been getting deserved attention for his 1980s style production since his first ep release back in 2006, called Teddy Boy, and a second ep release the year after named 1986. After touring alongside class acts such as Daft Punk, The Rapture, Justice and SebastiAn, the zombie strikes back with another release on Record Makers, representing the French electro house sound like never before.

    His newest release Nightcall contains two new tracks accompanied by remixes executed by a mysterious Dustin Nguyen and French avant-garde producer Jackson.

    On the single we hear Kavinsky’s zombie voice for the first time. In a duet featuring the zombie and his girlfriend (Lovefoxxx from CSS) he gives her a call after being transformed into an immortal. It’s disturbing as well as heartwarming, hearing them reconnecting after the tragedy and him being brought back to life by mystical means.

    For the b-side Kavinsky produces a fantastic car-chase theme called Pacific Coast Highway, in which we follow his car on the highway. It’s on this track where we hear the classic Kavinsky sound, arpeggiated synths conjoined with 80s beats as if they were transposed from an epic 1980s TV show soundtrack.
