Album Info

Seven years have gone by since the last release by the Kafkas' record "Privilegienthron". In these years the band has been touring through Germany without longer pauses. "Paula", their new album, will bring them to light not only in the punk scene. The first song "Klatscht In Die Hände" already resounds with an energetic electro pop beat underlined by Markus Gabi Kafka's passionate and rhapsodical vocals. The video, which was on top of MTV's Rockzone Video charts for several weeks, was presented very successfully on various online plat forms and TV channels such as Sat 1, Motor.de, N!, Core TV or Go TV. However, the other songs on "Paula", e.g. "Deine Lippen Schweigen", an indie rock ballad, or melodic guitar songs like "90 Minuten" or "Wenn Es Eine Hölle Gibt" show that the Kafkas are familiar with self-conscious texts a la Kettcar or Propaghandi. Equipped with a crystal clear production the band presents fifteen songs, modern indie rock / pop with electronic influences, great guitar adaptions, charming rhythms and polyphonic vocal duels. Melancholic balladic songs, heaven-assailing pop hymns, subtle interspersed off beats – the Kafkas just produce compelling pop music and transport their critical content unobtrusive and with humour.
