Album Info

Sports is the debut album of producer duo Anders Christophersen (aka. Aies/Ormen) and Rasmus Møbius. Their collaborative work as Melk sees them emphasizing their dub and hip-hop influences, combined with soulful samples and a range of vocal and instrumental collaborators: Melk add plenty of real acoustic instruments like trumpet and Hammond organ to their own sample-based rhythms. The many collaborations ensure a good variation, while tight direction by Møbius and Christophersen maintains the consistent thread through the album. Prominent guests from the Danish hiphop scene dropped by Melks studio, showing prime cuts and scratches from Malk De Koijn vet Tue Track and strong vocal performance from Nobody Beats the Beats’ Context and former Prince Po collaborator Gisli. One the more dubby side, Bahamas rooted Tuco contributed what surely is one of his finest songs to date, and finally Ane Trolle delivers a sweet and catchy soul echo for two of the albums tracks, wrapping up a compact and focused record with “all killers and no fillers”.
