Album Info
The Debut CD release from soul diva Vanessa Haynes. A series of original songs from her, and co-writer producer, Paul Carmichael, and tracks from Keyboard player Jeff Young. Deeply soulful songs, with personal lyrics, this is already a classic CD. Originally recorded towards the end of 2006, at the famous Eastcote Studios (also recently used by Adele) with a great band including Paul Carmichael on Bass, Richard Bailey (Jeff Beck, Steve Winwood) on Drums, Jeff Young (Sting, Donald Fagen) on Keyboards. Vanessa Haynes is currently the lead singer with Acid Jazz legend "Incognito" and is constantly touring with this band. A new release is expected in 2012. But for now this is a beautiful introduction to this stunning voice, in a mellow groove. Review: "A Classy Affair from teh start. Smooth guitar and mellow bass serve as a mouthwatering infrastructure for her chic, sultry singing, with expressive backing vocals adding extra allure to "I wonder". The title cut is equally stylish.
