Album Info
STUFF THAT ROTATESNew album from Snake & Jet's Amazing Bullit Band!
Snake & Jet’s Amazing Bullit Band return with their third studio album. The duo is proud to present a completely self-illustrated work that presents itself as a meticulously composed work – perhaps more so than their previous records “X-Ray Spirit” and “Peaceboat”. The album is still loaded with their trademark of groovy beats, but the sound is more 60s-70s, psych rock.
In order to rediscover music’s ability to seduce and its irrational poetic nature, the guys have had heavy jam sessions, often far away from the big city leaving improvisation and the likes at the forefront. The many almost-theres, sketches, graphic doodles, pitched MP3s, video animations, tearing riffs have been refined through sessions in the Holy Hut Studio and the band’s own Element Wood Studio.
About the Music
The Music is supposed to be played and internalized. It should be loud and seductive. Snake & Jet have sought after the magical rhythm, where mysticism and carnage lie. Rhythm, time and heartbeat are closely related – escapism, doubt, consumption and lust make up the basis of the record’s textual universe. Instrumentation is classic, but has a bit more dirty, spongy and leather like textures. Represented by new sultry instrumentation in Jets’ congas for example, but also Snake’s infatuation with the electrical bass. These elements come together and sound intuitive and natural – songs with a beautiful horizon. No argumentation needed. An attempt to fuse the songs with a bit of eternity. These are songs you’ll want to hear again.
It rotates
“The record we’ve made rotates, often around a core. It’s about movement; how to slowly moving oneself towards something. Circulating. If you don’t get closer to it, you end up rotating along and therein experienced a gravitational field of sounds. The music has the circular movement as a motive. It flows naturally and refuses to stop. Rhythm turns, melodies go in circles. Themes are repeated, but on a new course and on different places in the story. As a whole, freedom is sought in escapism (the true essence of rock), but the escape from reality must be of bodily form. The magical and enchanting, the experienced and sensed make up the burning sun of the system. Revolves around revolving.” - Snake & Jet
”Stuff That Rotates” will be released on April 30th 2012 in Scandinavia and in May in the Benelux, Germany and the UK. The band’s previous albums were well received by music lovers around the world. In fact, the leading American radio station KCRW had their legendary program “Morning Becomes Eclectic” play several tracks from both albums and especially in The States, the albums were on the lips of bloggers and music supervisors across the United States – mostly due to the groove and energy of the music. This has also resulted in numerous cameos and synchs in films, on TV and in commercials, all of which have broadened the recognition of the band’s music abroad.
The first single “Black Egg” is currently in rotation on Danish Public Radio P6 Beat and they have played their first show in two years in London as a trio no less, with Laura Rathschau on bass and vocals. A line-up they are looking forward to present to audiences throughout the spring.
