Album Info

Of all the Django style musicians of today, Jimmy Rosenberg ¿ by many considered to be one of the greatest guitarist of all times ¿ is the hardcore rock¿n¿roll-bohemian! Here are his rare and/or unpublished recordings compiled on one CD.

To meet the growing demand for the guitar genius JIMMY ROSENBERG, Hot Club Records have now collected all his rare and/or unpublished tracks to this wonderful retrospective collection. The music is presented in chronological order, and show Jimmy¿s development from his stunning debut at the age of 13, until his most recent studio session ¿ together with the accordion player Stian Carstensen.

The title ¿SWINGING WITH JIMMY¿ is taken from ¿Jimmy¿s Suite¿ (track 1-8 on the CD), Jimmy¿s astonishing debut together with Hot Club de Norvège in 1993, composed by Jon Larsen. The next five melodies (tracks 9-13) are single tracks, previously published one at the time on various compilations and collected here for the first time. On these tracks we meet Jimmy Rosenberg in pyrotechnical interplay with some of the greatest musicians in the Django-tradition: Bireli Lagrene, Babik Reinhardt, Angelo Debarre and Andreas Öberg!

Track 14-19 have never before been published: first two wonderful recordings in guitar trio format: Django¿s hard swinging ¿Webster¿, followed by a funky version of Jobim¿s classical bossa ¿Wave¿. And finally four fantastic duets with the accordion king Stian Carstensen ¿ two twin spirits, melting together in perfect interplay.

At the same time Hot Club Records have now completed a full restoration of the complete back-catalog of Jimmy Rosenberg: nine CD¿s in all. These are the complete recordings on Hot Club Records so far by Jimmy Rosenberg ¿ one of the greatest guitarists of all times!
