Album Info

“Let’s Fall In Love” is the first Metrotones album release for 19 years. In all that time, the band has continued to play live across Europe and so it is perhaps fitting that this album should contain a selection of songs from their acclaimed live show. Recorded at Ealing Town Hall in London, “Let’s fall In Love” has something for all doo-wop fans. As well as vocal group standards like “Sh-Boom” and “Buzz Buzz Buzz”, there are great jivers like the title track “Let’s Fall in Love” and “Crazy Over You”, smoochy ballads like “In The Still of the Night” and “The Glory of Love” and, of course, some high-energy vocal numbers like “Who’s That Knocking” and “When I Woke Up This Morning”. The Metrotones’ vocalists and musicians have been lucky enough to perform alongside (and often back) many of their doo-wop heroes on their visits to the UK. Some of the tracks on this album became part of the band’s set following these exciting experiences. They include The Calvanes (“Crazy Over You”), Bobby Hendricks (lead singer on “Drip Drop” by The Drifters), The Willows (“Church Bells May Ring”), The 5 Keys (“She’s The Most”, “It’s A Groove”), The Spaniels (“Stormy Weather”) and The Cleftones (“You Baby You”).
