Album Info

The first full length album released by the label was The sleeping sonqztq, an album devised by Flying Matchstick Men's Graham Peel and Gavin Thomson (then writing electronica under the name GRNR).

The concept was to mix GRNR's production on Peel's songs and effectively create a "remix" album of original tracks. As the 'Matchsticks live shows were anything but sedate, The sleeping sonqztq offered a different experience of the songs than the frenetic gig performances.

With kind permission from Graham and Gav, we have several demos made around the time of The sleeping sonqztq available as bonus tracks.

Many a heart was broken when Flying Matchstick men announced they were to split, however, almost all of the band went on to other things. Gavin Thomson began playing bass with Findo Gask and Graham Peel joined his friend, John Baillie Jr, in the electro/house/DJ act, Dolby Anol. Ross Clark began a new band, Tender Mercies, and his replacement guitarist, Graeme Ronald now performs as Remember, Remember.
