Album InfoRELEASE OF NEW ÁRSTÍÐIR REMIX ALBUM FEATURES RARE ISOTOPIC FUSION OF ELECTRONIC AND ICELANDIC CHAMBERPOP
Reykjavík, Iceland — The acoustic Icelandic band Árstíðir received an electronic upgrade today with the exclusive release of their remix EP Tvíeind on gogoyoko.com, in conjunction with the Iceland Airwaves international music festival. The album features tracks from the latest Árstíðir album Svefns og vöku skil reimagined by international electronic artists ranging from Iceland’s own Ruxpin and Kippi Kanínus (the moving force behind Amiina’s recent electronic direction) to iamthemorning from St. Petersburg.
With the onset of unremitting music from Reykjavík’s Iceland Airwaves festival, the release celebrates the international collaborations inspired by Icelandic nature, and the onset of perpetual night that inevitably follows in November. Tvíeind continues the light-and-dark duality of Árstíðir’s LP Svefns og vöku skil (translation: the boundary between sleeping and waking states), featuring insomniac titles such as Days & Nights, Shades, and Á meðan jörðin sefur (translation: while the Earth sleeps).
The interaction of acoustic and digital is represented by Icelandic word Tvíeind, which describes two differently charged atomic particles joined in a stable isotope.
Árstíðir is available for interviews and appearances. Contact Linda Iliste at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
