A hearty twist for horse riding Heroes - News of the guitar poet Philippe Caillat-Grenier The Germany living French guitarist Philippe Caillat-Grenier will soon release a new album entitled "Twist for horse riding heroes". This CD, with a total of 9 tracks, is a tribute to the heroes of Philippe ́s childhood, such as Zorro, the black-clad masked outlaw who fights for law and order with an eternal charming smile despite the greatest dangers. Furthermore, with this new CD, Philippe Caillat pays a tribute to the eternal guitar heroes from the 60s - The Shadows. According to the title of this CD we, of course, get such titles as "Black ́s Whip", "Seargeant Garcia" or "Railway men ́s Twist". A lot of the lead melodies have an "Apache" or "Geronimo" sound... a sound that is wonderfully retro as well as brilliantly up to date. Great musicians such as Alex Vesper on drums, Hannes Vesper on bass guitar, Johanna Weckesser on guitar and Daniel Sicart on percussions give the CD its right tone. Each track remains relaxed and very well harmonized (Surf Jazz), and you’ll find throughout this album moments which could be described as "chilling". At this point: it ́s time for a break or it’s time for dreaming! Even those who like dancing will love this music and particularly the twists that do generate movement. All in all, this album is a successful mixture of old and new music, evolving in a amazing atmosphere and ingeniously arranged with a lot of beautiful melodies. Last but not least, the soulful guitar solos of Philippe make "Twist for horse riding heroes" an album for all those who also appreciate music beyond the mainstream. A pure listening enjoyment.
