With its dark tail curled ‘round the garage shows Erik Enocksson travelling further in the same gloaming landscape he explored with his praised music for the movie Farväl Falkenberg.
The frail – lonely suspended – organ tones, the beautiful choir arrangements, the whistling and the sparse use of acoustic instruments that brought out the film art of Jesper Ganslandt have not been abandoned though the music is more concentrated, the silence more pronounced.
The simple, repetitive melodies performed with guitar, piano, reed organ and choirs have a sacred tone that lingers on like an old hymn. The glowing, nervy singing of Enocksson and the vivid lyrics gives With its dark tail curled ‘round the garage a sense of desolation and forms stories of longing told by an isolated “I”.
