Album Info

pressinfo long: the weight of the world on his shoulders the lightsleepr does not deserve to sleep the sleep of the just. He constantly contemplates our society´s status quo instead and tries to absorb his findings in his music, through which he wants to share them with others. from the musical point of view his music tends to refer to pop music, but his lyrics do not have anything in common with what we understand as glossy mainstream pop music. as human-rights-jurist he expierienced too many injustices and inconsistencies, so that music saved his live as an outlet. his music should not serve as self-interest though, it should entertain by its ease to the ear and make a difference driven by its inherent critizism. a black flag packed in candy wrapper.... biography: the frontman and mastermind of the viennese indie-rock band [[eclat]] decided to start a solo-project, because he was tired of making compromises with his music. call him not working well with others or call him control-freak, but please do not assume that he does not love music... therefore christian created his pseudonym “the lightsleeper”and he is fully committed to its musical style and concept. electronic beats collide with chamber music as well as fat basslines and electronic effects meet soulful, occasinally megalomaniacal piano playing or indie guitars; the whole thing rounded off by a catchy singing voice transporting less catchy lyrics. these theoretically conflictive elements merge into a coherent ensemble, which hopefully will soon be part of the renown of the recent austrian popmusic offside mainstream. contact information: homepage: www.thelightsleeper.org e-mail: contact@thelightsleeper.org booking-requests: booking@thelightsleeper.org telephone: +43 681 205 909 24 myspace: http://www.myspace.com/the_lightsleeper facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pages/the-lightsleeper twitter: http://twitter.com/#!/Iightsleeper releases: the lightsleeper – transition - mini ep release: september 24th 2011 this mini-ep consists of 2 songs, which the lightsleeper already performed live with his previous band, but they never were recorded properly nor published. Hence these songs werde chosen to showcase the transition from indie-alternative rock in a band environment to indie-electro pop with a completely new arrangement to connoiseurs of the previous band on one hand and to present these songs to a new audience on the other. tracklist: 1.the milgram reality how far can you go, when you have an excuse..... people too easily substitute their own values for predetermined sets of values established by religion, state or society and therefore become easily influenceable instruments.... 2.this is the winter of my discontent „I can´t eat as much as i´d like to throw up.“ (originally in german by max liebermann, painter, 1933 when the nazis took over) a famous saying, which comes in mind very often nowadays, when we witness the fascists (or "liberals“ how they call themselves) rising to power again by means of radicalizing and inciting people.
