Grand Hotel Van Cleef
Grand Hotel van Cleef (GHvC) was founded in 2002 by Thees Uhlmann, Marcus Wiebusch and Reimer Bustorff. Their first releases were the debut album Du und wieviel von deinen Freunden by Kettcar (the band of Wiebusch and Bustorff), and Hinter all diesen Fenstern by Tomte (the band of Uhlmann). Both albums sold surprisingly well: Kettcar had soon sold 20,000 albums, and Tomte's album spent four weeks in the German charts.
After releasing their own records, the Grand Hotel began signing and producing other indie music acts, and have built a reputation as the most important label for alternative German guitar pop. Grand Hotel van Cleef has also released widely acclaimed international indie acts like Death Cab For Cutie, John K. Samson (The Weakerthans), Ola Porida, Maritime and more. - Wikipedia
