The new sub-label under the roof of karaoke kalk. pascal schäfer, who has already released his recent debut album 'dawn' as well as his 2003 ep 'melody express' on karaoke kalk, starts the kalk pets series with his 'rythmes ep'. the three tracks are called 'mystére', 'poupée' and 'l'orgue' and take up roughly where 'melody express' ended. with kalk pets, there has been established another platform for the artists we already know from karaoke kalk, for their individualistic idea of music and their characteristic complexity. in addition, kalk pets opens up new possibilities for the label itself, offering a brand name saying: somehow kalk-ish, yet definitely meant and made for the dance floor. however, it's not only some of the already known karaoke kalk acts who will be appearing on the occasional kalk pets releases ¬there'll certainly be one or the other as yet unknown name to look forward to.
